LAWSON-PERRY ROMANCE.
(Received Tuesday, 10.5 a.m.) LONDON, Monday.
Miss Mary Lawson has announced that her engagement to Mr Fred Perry, the well known tennis player, lias been broken off.
Miss Lawson said: ' "Our engagement was broken off on the trans-Atlan-tic telephone. Publicity killed our romance. I am sick and tired of the everlasting ridiculous rumours that Fred likes America and wants to live there while I don’t.” She added that Perry had cabled saying he had accepted a film offer.
