A great-granddaughter of Captain William Hobson, New Zealand’s first Governor, is Mrs C. T. Wedgwood, who, accompanied by her husband, arrived at Wellington yesterday by the Makura, after visiting Soutli Africa and Australia. The descent from Captain Hobson is through her grandmother on her father’s side. On the present trip Mr and Mrs Wedgwood intend to visit Auckland, where Captain Hobson was buried in 1842. Mr Wedgwood is a director of Josiah Wedgwood and Sons, Ltd., Stoke-on-Trent, England^ - the famous pottery firm. He has with him examples of pottery made by Josiah Wedgwood some years prior to 1769, when the firm commenceijßoperations.
