The taxation to be paid to the Government Treasury by the Manawatu Trotting Club as a result of its recent successful meeting at the Awapuni racecourse amounts to £1172. The amount is made out as follows: —Totalisator tax, £536; dividend tax, £552; stakes tax, £53; amusement tax, £29. The annual meeting of the Ladies’ Auxiliary of the Navy League will be held in the A. and P. Rooms, Perry Street, to-morrow at 2.30 p.m.
