IMPERIAL CROWN

TO BE REMODELLED. (Received Monday, 12.30 p.m.) LONDON, Sunday. The State Crown will bo remodelled for Jubilee Year, as a new symbol of the Empire. The maple leaf of Canada and other emblems of the Dominions and India will replace the Maltese crosses and flour delis. The reconstruction of the crown, which is the most valuable in the world, and made for Queen Victoria in 1838, will be carried out with the Empire’s Jubilee gifts of precious stones and metals, including gold from Canada and Australia, platinum from New Zealand, diamonds from Africa, emeralds, sapphires and diamonds from India, rubies from Burma, and aquamarines from Ceylon.
