THEATRICAL WAR
BREAKS OUT AFRESH

The "theatrical war” has broken out afresh, following the Equity instructing members not to sign contracts offered for G. B. Cochrane’s forthcoming new production, "Mesmer, ” a play by Beverley Nichols.
"I do not recognise the Equity’s right to dictate contracts,” said Mr Cochran. "I have two other plays ready for production. If I cannot get contribution towards the lowering of The Equity’s secretary (Mr Wall) declares that Mr Cochran is defying the agreed standard of contract for London theatres.
