Solo for bandsmen under 17 years.— R. Mathieson (Timaru) and T. Osborne (Timaru), 90 points (equal), 1; W. Russell (Greymouth), 89 points, 3; E. Pheloung (Oamaru), 87 points, 4. Boys under 17, any instrument other than cornet: P. Glenn (Kaikorai), 88 points, 1; R. Francis (Greymoutli Municipal), 87 points, 2; T. Denne (Waipukurau Town Band), 86 points, 3.
B flat or BB flat bass: H. C. Ur win (Hastings Citizens), 90 points, 1; R. Sliackleton (Palmerston North Garrison) and A. Spencer (Queen Alexandra’s Own), 89 points, equal, 2. The second B grade tost selection was played to-night. When the points were announced for both tests, Greymouth Municipal were the winners with 143 and 139 points, total 282.
