MASTERTON SHOW.

The annual show of the Master ton Agricultural and Pastoral Association was opened at the Solway Showgrounds to-day under favourable circumstances. The class of stock placed before the judges to adjudicate upon possesses that quality which should be a distinctive feature of a show of the high standing of the local Association. A large percentage of the stud sheep shown would more than hold their own in any show ring in the Dominion. The Masterton district is noted for the true-type animal which is bred by sheep farmers, and that accounts for the keen demand for district stud sheep by astute breeders from other districts. The officials of the association have given their best service to make the show a success, having paid particular attention to every detail which would assist in making it the premier autumn stock exhibition in the North Island. From the farmer’s point of view the show provides a valuable lesson on the proper manner in which to conduct the business of sheep farming. The 1935 show should go down in history as one of the most successful ever held by the Masterton A. and P. Association.
