IN THREE DAYS CITY PRACTICALLY DESTROYED. Press Association Electric Telegraph—Copyright (Received Saturday, 8.45 a.m.) PANAMA, Friday. David City, the third largest town in Panama, was almost completely destroyed by earthquakes during the last three days. The Premier, Senor Solis, reported to-day after an aeroplane survey of the area: “The city must practically be re-built,” he declared. ’ The canal hydrographic' office reported that there were five tremors on Thursday, making a total of forty in the last three days. EARTHQUAKES IN SOLOMONS. (Received Saturday, 10.20 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. A message from Vanikoro, in the Solomon Islands, says that the worst earthquake in the history of Vanikoro occurred on Thursday morning. Tremors commenced at midnight on Monday and continued until 7 o’clock on Thursday morning, when the climax was reached. All buildings are badly damaged, but there are no casualties. Some of the inhabitants, however, were thrown to the ground. The natives left the foreshore and scampered into the bush. Tremors are still being felt.
