ELOPEMENT RECALLED
THE COUPLE MARRIED. LONDON, Thursday. The sequel to a romantic dash to Gretna Green on 14th March, 1932, when parents pursued an eloping couple by aeroplane, motor car and _ express train, was seen when Mr Justice Eve gave awav his grand-daugliter Joan, when she married Mr Thomas Hanbury, son of Mr C. Hanbury, M.P., at St. Margaret’s, Westminster. Marriage was impossible at Gretna Green owing to lack of residential qualification. Mr Hanbury in the meantime was big game shooting in Canada. The formal engagement was announced in 1933. Mr Hanbury is now 20 and the bride 18. The ex-King George of Greece attended the wedding, and the Duke of Connaught sent a. present.
