SOUTHLAND TOUR ENDS.
INVERCARGILL, Friday./"' After two busy days in Invercargill, during which time she made impression on all who saw her heard her speak, Miss Jean this morning, setting out in her;plane at 8.15 o’clock from the Southland Aero Club’s aerodrome for Blenheim. The conditions were excellent for her flight. After her flight yesterday over the mountain and lake country of Southland, Miss Batten described the view as “magnificent.” —(P-A.) ARRIVAL AT BLENHEIM. BLENHEIM, This Day. Miss Jean Batten, on her return to Blenheim, in conclusion of her South Island tour, was entertained here by a large gathering. She was Mr G. M. Spence, president of Zealand Aero Club, with a cheßP for £9O, on behalf of various clubs” the Dominion. , . Miss Batten also was made the recipient of a silver life membership badge of the Marlborough Club. —(P.A.)
