INCREASE SINCE 1926. A census made in the present year of Maori population and its distribution Avas cpioted to the Native Affairs Commission in Wellington yesterday by Mr’ G.' P. Finlay, one of the counsel. Comparing the census with the 1926 figures, he shoAved that there had been a total increase of 8213 in the eight years. The figures Avere given as folloAv: —
