Some exceptional performances Avere registered in the latest series of county cricket matches, both batsmen and bowlers securing outstanding figures. Bowling for Derbyshire against Middlesex, T. B. Mitchell not only performed a remarkable feat by taking six wickets in the first innings and seven in the second (in each innings at a cost of 56 runs), but dismissed Hendren, Allen and Hulme in the same over, and at one stage had taken six AVickets for 13 runs. ‘ ‘ Tich ’ ’ Freeman, Kent’s evergreen boAvler, Avas once again in the limelight by taking eight Surrey Avickets. In one spell of eight halls he took four Avickets for no runs, tAvice taking two Avickets Avith consecutive deliveries, and later completing, the hat trick. Other boAvlers Avho did Avell Avere Sinfield and Goddard (Gloucestershire) and Hollie (Wanvickshire). Among the batsmen, Keeton strengthened his claim for inclusion in the English team for the next Test by scoring 223 for Nottinghamshire against Worcestershire. Watson and Iddon both passed 170 for Lancashire, and Cook scored 160 for Sussex. The former Aucklander, C. Dacye (106), joined Avith Hammond (114) in scoring a century for Gloucestershire, and other centuries Avere registered by Gregory, Woolley, J. Lee, Wyatt, Cranmerc, BakeAvell, 11. Parks and Dyson. CHIPPERFIELD FULLY RECOVERS. LONDON, Tuesday.
