MISSING CAR

DESTROYED BY FERE. The motor car taken from the W.F.C.A. parking area on Wednesday night apparently caught fire on the main road at Mt. Bruce and Avas abandoned. The remains of the car Avere noticed yesterday by Mr L. J. Matthews, of Mt. Bruce, over a bank on the Masterton side of the Ruamahanga Bridge. So completely did the flames demolish the car that every trace of the AvoodAvork, upholstery, and c\ _ en the tyres had disappeared, all that remained being the chassis and engine. Some trees and shrubs growing on the bank Avere also destroyed by fire. The car, which Avas OAvned by Mr John Craig, of 59 Bentley Street, Masterton, Avas parked on the W.F.C.A. area at 7.30 p.m. on Wednesday, and Avhen the oAvner Avent for his car at 10.30 p.m. it Avas missing. Mr MattheAvs informed the police of his discovery, and on investigations being made it Avas found that the car Avas the one Avhich had been taken from Masterton the night before.
