ARCHBISHOPRIC DECLINED. ("Received Saturday, 9.30 a.m.) LONDON, Friday. Canon How has refused the Archbishopric of Brisbane. Canon How said: “I consulted several people who are thoroughly acquainted with Brisbane and they are emphatic that the position cannot be undertaken bv a married man with a family unless lie possesses private means. I must, theiefore, regretfully decline, having no alternative.” ( \ previous cable stated: John Charles Holland How, of Liverpool, lias been elected to the Archbishopric ot Brisbane. Canon How is at present Rural Dean of Liverpool North.
