BOXING TOURNAMENT

'Since arranging the first matchings foa* the tournament at the King’s Theatre, Carterton, on Monday, 3rd July, the Matching Committee, after ■witnessing' several of the contests at. Eketahuna, decided to make some alterations in the bouts. The Manawatu boys who are definitely coming ,to Carterton are, all in fine form, and the local boys will be extended by them. Confirmation of all matchings has been obtained from tlie energetic secretary of. the Manawatu Boxing Association, and the appearance of such notable boxers as Candy, Hook, Joyce, Garni, and Glanigan from Palmerston North, and Ltirigan, Gibbons and McFarlane, from Feilding, has been definitely arranged. The local boxers taking part will-' be Flaws, J. Cadwallader, Young, Wallace and Gunther, of Greytown, McCord, McKay, Newlands, -Hirst, Horton and Blackley, of Masterton, W. 'Campin, Carterton, and Bolton Smith, of Pahiatua. Charges for admission are within the reach of everyone (2/6, 1/6 and 1/-). Children under 12 years will be admitted free.
