A FINE OF £5. CHRISTCHURCH, Wednesday. Hubert Lancelot Rhodes, a former employee of the Christchurch municipal electricity department, and at one time virtually in charge of its meteT ■trouble branch, was fined £5 to-day for tampering with a meter in his own home.

The prosecution said it had been found that the whole current at Rhodes’s house was running through the meters and not registering, but when the time for reading occurred the defendant would' connect, tlie meters again for a small amount to be registered.—(P.A.)
