KURIPUNI ■ GUILD. At the monthly meeting of the Ladies’ Guild Mrs Jamieson presided over an excellent attendance of members. The meeting took the form of a gift ■' ’ afternoon and was most successful. A pleasant social programme was arranged .by Miss Jones. MEN’S BROTHERHOOD. j The Kuripuni Methodist Men’s Brotherhood held its first- meriting of the season on Saturday evening, when twenty members were present. On behalf of the Brotherhood, Mr Goudge welcomed the Rev. R. Jamieson, who presided over the meeting. The chairman replied briefly, expressing the wish that the meetings would bci both 'successful and helpful. At the request of the Ladies’ Guild the Brotherhood agreed to take charge of a stall at the forthcoming'bazaar. It was decided to hold a debate at the next meeting, the subject, being, “That Machinery Has Conferred-Vast Benefits on Mankind.” Eor a perioid the members took part in a community sing, Mr Drew supplying the music. The chairman briefly introduced the Rev. J. Cocker, who was the speaker for the evening. Mr Cocker gave 'the Brotherhood some more .information about “ Jabez, the Wise Man of the Village.” At. the conclusion of his talk Messrs Daysh and Russell briefly the thanks of the Brotherhood .Ooeker for his most interesting talk. Apologies for absence were received from Rev. G. F. Stockwell Slid Messrs '] White/ and McMasters. The closing 1 devotions were led by the president.
