ADDINGTON PRICES. CHRISTCHURCH, Wednesday. Considerable interest centred in the store sheep section of the Addington market to-day, as on Monday and Tuesday a record low level for breeding ewes was reached at fairs. This low level was maintained to-day for inferior and average grades, but there was a slight advance for the very best young ewes. The fat stock sections sold steadily and firm at late rates. Store sheep: The entry was large, with lines forward from the Chatham Island, Nelson and Marlborough, and Southland. MASTERTON SALE. Messrs Wright, Stephenson and Co., Ltd., report:—Wei offered a fair yarding of sheep at Masterton yesterday. 'There was a very good enquiry for all classes o-f sheep, and our entry, which comprised breeding ewes, sold at good values. Wtf had a total clearance as under: —Ac. ‘ ‘ C-raigielea,” 5-yr ewes 6/2, 4-yr ewes 9/-, 4th ewes 11/4; ae. “ Awapiripiri,” 2-tli elves 9/6, 4 and 6-tli ewes, 9/10; ac. other vendors, 5-yr ewes, 8/6; 4 and 5-yr ewes, 6/to* 7/6; cull ewes, 3/6 to 4/6. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report having submitted an entry of 420 sheep to a good attendance of buyers. Prices were on a par with recent sales, b.f. lambs being in keen demand. A particularly goo-d line of 320 fat and forward b.f. lambs sold on account of Mr 11. T. Hume realised 9/S. Small 2-th ewes made 8/10. Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having had a good yarding of sheep at the Masterton sale yesterday. There was a good attendance of buyers, and fairly keen competition was in evidence. The following prices were realised: —Ac. Wardell Estate: 70 4-th ewes, 8/10; 58 2-th ewes, 10/9; ac, C. 11. Distributing Co., Ltd., report on their weekly sale as follows:-—Our yarding consisted of 2457 sheep, 35 cattle and 107 pigs, which w r ere offered to a large attendance. Competition for lambs was particularly keen, and we have to report a good sale in this section. 'Store wethers also sold well, and breeding ewes, of which we had very few, were easier. Cattle sold at late rates. Meaner pigs, of which we had a large entry, were considerably easier, but the vendors met the market. The following were the prices:—Fat sheep: Fat wethers, 11/- to 12/-; fat ewes, 6/- to 6/6; fat lambs, 10/- to 11/6.
