FIRE AT FACTORY
SIX GIRLS LOSE LIVES.. SEVERAL OTHERS MISSING. (Received Thursday, 5.35 a.m.) QUEBEC, Wednesday. Six girls were burned to death at Hull, when the Canada Match Factory was gutted by fire, following upon an explosion to-day. It is variously reported that from three to eight others arei missing. Roaring up from a mixing tank the explosion caught 15 girls. In a few minutes the building was a mass. of flames. Twelve girls are in hospital. The danger of the fire spreading had vanished by noon.
