In several eases corrugated iron roofs were lifted and carried some distance by the veeloeity of the "wind. A large shed on R. IT. Adams’. Paterangi farm was reduced to a pile of twisted sheets of corrugated iron. W. Hughes’ residence at Ngahinapouri was considerably damaged, a portion of the roof being torn off and the chimney levelled. Power and telephone lines were disconnected.
