SHEARING DISPUTE
WANGANUI RESOLUTION. WANGANUI, This Day. The largest meeting of shearers and shed hands ever held in Wanganui passed a resolution not to accept less than the rates laid down by the New Zealand Shearers’ Union and request various transport workers’ organisations that sheep and wool from, any sheds paying less than the fixed rates be declared “black”; and that the meeting congratulates the Gisborne Maori gangs on the splendid fight they are putting up for fair rates and decent conditions. — (l’.A.)
