At Miami (Florida) Captain Lancaster was indicted by the Grand Jury to-day in charges of first degree murder in relation to the death of Clarke. AUTOPSY ASKED FOR. MIAMI, Monday. An autopsy on the body of the late Iladen Clarke in the belief that he was slain, was asked for by his mother today. She alleged that her family physician found a fracture of the base of the skull and bumps on the head, leading her to believe that her son had been beaten before he was shot. Dr. Temple, the county physician, stated that ho saw no evidence of the condition reported by the family doctor. Mrs Clarke said that Captain Lancaster and Mrs Miller were badly upset over the shooting. “Captain Lancaster, ’ ’ she said, ‘ ' on his release from custody the first time, came to me and placed his hands on my shoulders and said, 'Mrs Clarke, I want you to know I did not kill your son.’ Subsequently I told him I was glad to hear that.”
