OTTAWA CONFERENCE FAILURE WOULD BE DISASTROUS. Press Association Electric Telegraph—Copyright (Received Wednesday, 9.13 a.m.) LONDON, Tuesday. If the Ottawa Conference fails, the consequences will be disastrous to the Empire, which will have begun tire process of disruption, so Mr L. C. M. S. Amery told the King’s College Conservatives. “Free trade inhibition,” lie said, “had killed previous conferences. It is rumoured that certain members of Cabinet will resign if wheat and meat preferences are granted to the Dominions, and do not even wish to discuss the subject at Ottawa. Such a policy would be fatal. Wo must meet the Dominions more than half-way.”
