A message from “The World” newspaper’s Canberra correspondent says that the Commoinvcalth Government is taking adequate precautions to deal Avith any disorder in New South Wales betAveen the Lang forces and the New Guard after the proclamation of the Financial Agreement Enforcement Bill. A secret investigation has just been finished, and deep concern is felt by tlie Federal Government as to the possibility of a clash occurring betAveen the rival organisations in Sydney. Tlie Commonwealth Government proposes to swear in special peace officers at a moment’s notice should trouble arise. ALLEGATIONS REITERATED. (Received Tuesday, 10.15 a.m.) SYDNEY, Tiiis Day. In a speech at Manly, Avhicli Avas broadcast, Colonel Eric Campbell denied Police Commissioner Child’s statements, in his recent report to the Goa ternment, and reiterated his allegations against the Police Department. He said: “It makes me boil Avith indignation Avhen I think that a gentleman in Commissioner Child’s position has to haA-e recourse to such allegations to try to get aAvay from straight-out facts. My statement that the sergeant of police was promoted for his activities in connection Avith the Lane Coa'o case has been denied.” Colonel Campbell then told bow a Sergeant Clark called at tlie “New Guard” headquarters and showed Campbell a crown on his arm saying: “It’s ail ill wind that Moavs nobody any good,” and, pointing to the crown, saidT “I got that out of your proseiution.’ ’
