RIVERSIDE CLUB. ANNUAL MEETING. The President (Mr F. E. Wells) presided over a large attendance at the annual meeting of the Riverside Golf Club, held last night. The club had been formed in October last, said Mr Wells, and at the conclusion' oi a successful season had a financial membership of 70. That was a very satisfactory position, but he considered that the forthcoming season would prove even more successful. He referred to the excellent work done by the committee in preparing the links, erecting stiles and in the general layout of the course, lie assured members that the course would be in first-class order for the opening of the season on Saturday, 2nd April. The financial position of the club was very satisfactory. After purchasing material, paying rent and wages there was a credit balance of £l(s/6/S. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year: —President, Mr F. E. Wells; vice-president, Mr W. .1. Palamontain; club captain, Mr W. D. Wallace; committee, Messrs. F. R. Henry, M. A. Rawlins, H. Heisenberg, W. .T. Beresford, Misses D. Moore and R. G. Bradley; hon. auditor, Mr W. J. Beresford; secretary and treasurer, Mr W. V. Madden, The annual subscription was fixed at £2, reducible to 50s if paid on or before 31st May. It was decided to hold over the incorporation of the club for another twelve months. 'The ruler drawn up by the committee were unanimously adopted. Two new members were elected. Votes of thanks were passed to Mrs Barr for the use of sheds in which to store the club’s equipment, to Mr Beresford for his work as auditor and to the green committee, Messrs. W. J. Palamontain, F. R. Henry and W. D. Wallace. Arrangements were made for the official opening of the club which will take place on 2nd April. A foursome tournament will be played and lady members are asked to provide a plate of cakes. WELLINGTON CHAMPIONSHIP. Bv defeating D. O. Whyte by 5 up and 4 to play on the ITeretamiga links during the week-end, -A. D. S. Duncan won the championship of the Wellington Golf Club for the 1931-32 season.
