protest. - ' AUCKLAND, Sunday. The following resolution was carried at a mass meeting of about 5000 people in the this afternoon, at which addresses were given by Trades Union leaders: “That this meeting of Auckland citizens protests against the Government’s intention to amend the Arbitration Act in the manner proposed and its expressed intention to impose a further cut in Civil Service salaries and wages, and calls upon all persons concerned to support their national organisations in any combined resistance that mav be deemed necessary.”— (P.A.)
