LADIES’ GUILD
At yesterday’s afternoon meeting of the Ladies’ Guild Mrs Harrington, of Bannister Street, made a very practical suggestion: that the ladies assemble at a different home each month to engage in sowing for the benefit of the church funds. A resolution in this direction was carried. Mrs (Rev) Parker) presided over the meeting and at the piano. Mrs IT. Jones and Mrs S. Millar were present in their official capacity as secretary and treasurer, respectively. Mrs Chapman and Miss Budd were appointed to take charge of the sweets stall at the Harvest Sale on the Monday night, 21 st March. Mesdames Wilton, Marshall and Thorton to be in charge of the cake stall and Mrs 11. Jones and Miss Jones to preside over the produce stall. Mrs Blane junior and Mrs Wilton supplied a. dainty afternoon tea for the guild. Mr Manuel is in charge of the Harvest Festival programme and a free concert will be given on the Monday night. Special anthems and solos will be rendered on Sunday, 20th March. Pastor Whittington will preach at the morning service and Rev. W. Parker will preach at the evening service. SCL-WAY HARVEST FESTIVAL. The preacher on Sunday night to a-large congregation was Rev. W. Parker. Miss Colder presided at the organ. Mr Henry Jones presented a pleasing programme on the Monday night, when the following took part:—Messrs H. Jones, T. R. Mannell, Misses O’Donnell, Jamieson, E. Jones, Mrs A. J. Davsh, and little Miss Jones. Mr Mannell disposed of the produce. Mr Brader moved a vote of thanks to the artists, Mr Rutter to Mr Mannell. Mr Ken Brader acted as treasurer, and Mr Jim Price and Mr Arthur Colder as stewards.
