WELLINGTON SALE i&DROP IN PRICES. WELLINGTON, This Day. The wool sale opened this morning, Tinder discouraging intiucnces of numerous withdrawals in the catalogues, and withdrawals made at the time of the offering. Passings-in were monotonously frequent, but the prices offered were exceedingly low, indicating a fall of ltd to Id per pound on the last sale. The quality of the wool offered, however, is described as indifferent to poor. Typical,prices realised were:— * t jine crossbreds, 3:1 dto 4.1 d; Romney, oSto 4|d. Halfbreds, 64d to Sid, and early in the sale 9d was paid for a line of six bales of A halfbred. CrossbrqjjL hoggets sold at 4id to aid. Coarse crossbreds sold very low down to 2d, but averaged about 31 d. In lambs, super lines made up to Sd, but usually sold at from 3d to 6id.^ Corriedale sold as low as 44d to "id. Southdown lambs made up to <3d. Lincolns sold at 2ld to 31 d. Merinos brought old to 7d. Bellies and pieces realised from Id to 23d, and crutehings Id to 2-ld. These prices are typical, and not the average. Definite results cannot be known until the official range of prices lias been compiled at the end of the sale.
