Tho House Naval Affairs Committee A’oted to sheh’e the Vinson Construction Bill, providing for heavy additional building, until after the meeting of the Disarmament Conference at Gene A-a.
(Mr. Carl Binson, the new Democratic chairman of the House of RepresentatiA’es NaA’al Committee, introduced a Bill calling for a ten-year shipbuilding programme, the building of 120 ships, including four aeroplane carriers, nine cruisers, 85 destroyers, and 22 submarines, at a total c-ost of about 616 million dollars. President Hoover a few days ago declined to endorse the Bill.)
