MASTERTON SALES. Associated Live Stock Auctioneers, Ltd., report: —At Masterton yesterday we yarded a large entry of lambs to a good attendance. The entry included several pens of well grown, good conditioned w.f. lambs for which there was a keen demand. -B,F. rape lambs also sold well. Altogether,, with the exception of one pen of lambs, the .whole yarding was disposed of under the hammer at prices which compare favourably with ruling rates. Realisations were as under: —W.F. wether lambs, 5/8 to 6/7; shorn w.f. lambs, good, 7/4; small w.f. lambs, 3/- to 4/4; b.f. rape lambs, 7/- to 7/6; small b.f. lambs, 3/4 to 4/6.
The New Zealand Farmers’ Co-oper-ative Distributing Co., Ltd., report on their usual weekly sale as follows: —■ Our entry consisted of 2346 sheep (consisting principally of stores) and a few cattle and pigs. Competition for sheep was much brisker than late sales, although buyers were cautious. The sale, on a. whole was very satisfactory, as we had a total clearance, with the exception of a few pigs. The following were the prices:—
Fats.-—Prime fat ewes, 7/-, 7/4 to 9/1; fat lambs, 11/6 to 13/-; fat Downs 8/6 to 10/-. Stores. —Two-tooth wethers, S/3 to 8/8; small do., 4/6 to 6/6; 4-year ewes, 7/9; 5-year ewes, 6/6; m.a. ewes, 5/6 to 6/1; fat and forward, 4/- to 5/10 store ewes, 1/9 to 2/0; good b.f. rape lambs, 7/5 to 7/6; medium b.f. lambs, 4/10, 5/6, 6/1 to 6/9; small do., 3/-, 3/6 to 3/10; good w.f. lambs, 7/3; medium, 4/6 to 5/-; small a.s. lambs, 3/- to 3/6.
Cattle. —Good vealers, 25/-; fair, 20/-; ilght, 15/-.
Pigg.—Good weaners. 9/6, 10/6 to 11/-.
