PLANE CRASHES
AT MANAWATU HEADS. CAPTN. PARK SLIGHTLY HURT. FOXTON, This Day. A home-assembled aeroplane, owned by C. Bowden, of Palmerston North, and piloted by Captain Park, flying from Palmerston North to the beach, crashed when landing at the Manawatu Heads this morning.
The pilot and the owner escaped in-
jury, although Captain Park sustained an abrasion over the left eye.
The ’plane struck a sand hummock on landing, completely overturning. The wings, rudder, propellor and engine were damaged. The machines is being dismantled for removal to Palmerston North.
(Capt. Park, until recently, was pilot instructor to the Wairarapa Aero Club.)
