A GAMING HOUSE
TWENTY-FOUR MEN FINED,
AUCKLAND, Monday
Twenty-four men, mostly Dalmatians, were arrested at Auckland on Sunday afternoon, when a party of six detectives, under Chief-Detective Hammond raided a gaming house at 48 Victoria Street West. The building was kept as a Dalmatian boardinghouse by Mate Dragieivicli, aged 33. The sequel took place in the Police Court to-day, when Dragicivich was fined £25, in default two months’ gaol, for keeping a common gaming house. Twenty-three others pleaded guilty to being found on the premises, and were fined £3, or seven days each.
