Sale, district magistrate at Cawnpore, who was severely censured ■recently in connection with the -Gawnpore riots, has been replaced by Captain A. "W. Ibbotson. A special bench of the Rangoon High Court dismissed the appeal of fifteen men who were sentenced to death in connection with the rebellion at Dedaye in January last.
