ROAD CYCLING.
SYDNEY TO MELBOURNE. SYDNEY, Monday. Fifty-three cyclists are taking part in the first road race from Sydney to Melbourne the first stage of Avhicli ends to-day at Goulburn. It'is expected that the event, which is described as the longest in the British Empire, will occupy five days. The distance by road is seven hundred miles. The prizes aggregate £750. The competitors include the champions, 11. Opperman, R. W. Lamb, and the Frenchmen, Bidot and Mauclair. SIX-DAY RACE. MONTREAL, Monday. Horace Horder (Australia) and LeAV Elder (Toronto) Avon the six-day bicycle race, Avhicli concluded on Saturday.
