DRUNKEN MOTORIST.
„ LIGHT PUNISHMENT. At the Martinborougli Magistrate’s Court yesterday, John Howatt, charged with having been intoxicated while in charge of a car, pleaded guilty, and was convicted and fined £5, and his lieenso endorsed. Messrs J. W. Kershaw and W. J. Martin, J’s.P., were on the Bench. The Bench stated, in view of the circumstances of the ease, that defendant was not actually driving when apprehended, the penalty would be a light one.
