LADIES AT PLAY. N.Z. CHAMPIONSHIP. (By Telegraph—Press Association). WELLINGTON, Sunday. The following were the best cards returned in the first bogey competition, played on Saturday afternoon: —Miss Richardson (7), ' 1 down; Miss M. Whyte( 15), 1 down; Miss Dalgleish (11), 2 down; Mrs Buchanan (12), 3 down; Miss Watson (4), ,3 down; Miss Lascelles (4), 4 down; Mrs Collins (5), 4 down; Miss Jones (8), 4 down; Mrs Slater (8), 4 down; Miss Rathbone (6),- 4 down; Miss Guy (5), 5 down; Miss Dyer (12), 5 down; Mrs Feast (14), 5 down; Mrs McMillan (10), 6 down; Mrs Endean (11), 6 down; Miss McFarlane (11),- 6 down; Mrs Mcßae, 6 down. The competition was played in two divisions, Miss Richardson (Wellington) winning the prize for those with handicaps from 1 to 8, and Miss M. Whyte taking the prize for those with handicaps from 9 to 15.
MASTERTON V. MARTINBOROUGH.
A match was played between the members of the Masterton and Martinborough Golf Clubs on the Lansdowne links at the week-end. In the fourball, Masterton won four games and Martinborougli three, and in the singles Masterton secured twelve wins to Martinborough’s one, two games being halved.
