SHOOTING TRAGEDY.
FARMER SHOT. (By Telegraph—Press Association). WAIPUKURAU, This Day. A shooting tragedy occurred at Waipukurau late last evening, a married man named W. White, a dairy farmer, losing his life near the Lindsay settlement. In the company with his partner, R. Lansdown, deceased was travelling a marshy paddock when a hare started up in the rushes, deceased giving chase. When about twenty yards from Lansdown there was a report and White threw up Iris arms and fell, having tripped. The full charge of the shotgun entered his left side under the arm pit. Death was apparently instantaneous. (Tho wife of tho late Mr White was a Miss Ralph, and a daughter of Mr S. Ralph, of Masterton.)
