BADMINTON.
CLOSING OF SEASON. The official closing of the Masterton Nomads’ Badminton Club for the 1930 season took place on Friday night, when most enjoyable and exciting combined doubles championship and Yankee tournaments were held, for which twelve couples competed. The championship tourney resulted in a victory for Mrs N. H. Prior and Mr N. Miller, who, in the final, defeated Miss D. Cameron and Mr E. M. Hodder in two . straight sets, the scores being 15/8, 15/7. At. the close of the evening, trophies were presented to the winners by the president (Mr Hodder), on behalf of the club.
It was impossible to complete the Yankee tournament during the evening, but many close and exciting games in this event were played.
