CHANGEABLE WEATHER.
HAIL AND RAIN. FRESH SNOW ON TAEABUAS. Changeable weather was experienced duiring the week-end. Springlike con-' ditions rapidly gave place to those of winter and vice versa. Showery weather on Saturday morning changed to sunshine in the afternoon. Late in the evening, however, a further change to wintry weather was experienced when a fall of hail took place. Yesterday •moaning there was a return to warm sunshine, but in the afternoon heavy showers of rain fell. The wind increased in force, and during the night blew at gale force, accompanied by hail and rain. A severe hailstorm was experienced on the East Coast early on Saturday afternoon. It lasted for about half an hour.
The peaks of the Tarawa Eange are again covered to a low level with a mantle of snow. A party of members of the Wairarapa Tramping Club is to make an ascent of Mt. 'Holdsworth during the coming week-end and the fresh fall of snow should add interest to the trip.
