FLOODS IN INDIA.
VILLAGES DESTROYED.

The immensity of the (floods in the Sind district of the Bombay Presidency, only now subsiding after six weeks, is revealed by the District Commissioner, who says the total area inundated is over 550,000 acres. Over nine hundred villages and hamlets were destroyed. Forty thousand people are homeless. The damage is estimated at £1,500,000.
