BERNARD SHAW.
W.E.A. LECTURE. Whether Bernard Shaw is a truly great dramatist and thinker or not, he is almost certainly the most brilliant controversialist of our time. A lecture on “Bernard Shaw, Idol Smasher,” will be given at the Municipal Social Hall on Monday evening by Mr J. A. Brailsford, 8.A., as one of his series on “Writers with a Message.” The play-reading for tho evening will be taken from “The Showing-up of Blanco Posnet,” which shows Shaw in another light, with more appreciation of human values than he shows in most of his works. The cast will be as follows: —Blanco Posnet, Mr W. Hickson; sheriff, Mr J. H. Fieldhouse; Feemy Evans, Miss Penney; the woman, Mrs H. B. Reid; Elder Daniels, Mr Iggulden; strapper, Mr E. Thomas; foreman of jury, Mr F. E. S'. Roekel; one of the boys, Mr Melville. ,
