ORCHESTRAL CONCERT.

TO-NIGHT’S BIG ATTRACTION. A final reminder is given of the Masterton Orchestral Society’s concert, to be held in St. Matthew’s Parish Hall this evening, commencing at 8 o’clock. Under the baton of Miss L. E. Hall, A.T.C.L., the Masterton Orchestra will contribute a varied programme of musical items of wide appeal. The numbers selected are of very pleasing compositions, which are bound to be popular with the audience, as they include such well-known works as Ketelbey’s highly descriptive piece, “In a Persian Market,” Flotow’s overture, “Stradella,” Suppe’s delightful and sparkling “Pique Dame” overture, several pieces of Rosse’s orchestral suite, “The Merchant of Venice,” and the first movement of Haydn’s “Second Symphony in D. ” The vocal items will include several contributions by the Masterton West School Choir, and Mrs J. 11. Fieldhouse and Mr Henry Jones, who need no introduction to Masterton audiences.
