SPECTACULAR FIRE.
GARAGE DESTROYED. (By Telegraph —Press Association.) WHAKATANE, Tuesday. The most spectacular fire that has occurred at Whakatane for years completely destroyed the R. M. Garage last evening. The building, which was a lurge Avoodcn one, contained six cars, ,aU°of which Averc destroyed, together with stocks of tyres, oils and tools. The brigade made a good save of the adjoining buildings. * The destroyed ears Avere OAvned by the R. M. Company, the Inspector of •Machinery, Messrs Sargood, Son and Favcu, Mr E. W. Beckett (all insured), Messrs Ruddy and Sloane, and Mr Pcargram (uninsured). ‘Details of the insurance on the building arc not available.
