MINISTER RESIGNS.
ECHO OF CHURCH DISORDERS. (Received Wednesday, 10.10 a.m.) v LONDON, Monday. The Bishop of Blackburn has accepted the resignation of Rev. E. Lauria, vicar of Saint Cuthbert’s. Mr Lauria declares that he did not use unlawful rites and ceremonies and that he taught nothing unlawful. —Australian and N.Z. Press Assn. —United Service. (A cablegram in February stated that disgraceful scenes of disorder occurred in St. Cuthbert’s Church, Darwen, arising out of objections by the congregation to the Anglo-Catholic ritual adopted by the vicar, Rev. E. Lauria, who was later granted three months’ leave of absence).
