FUTURE OF N.Z.
PPiINCE OF WALES’ SPEECH. LONDON, Sunday. The Prince of Wales was the chief guest at the New Zealand Association ’s_ annual dinner. The attendance was 400, including Mr Amcry, Lord Jellieoe, Lord Eustace Percy, Lord Kylsant, Sir Joseph Ward, Mr W. Pembcr Reeves, Sir Ernest Rutherford and Sir James Mills. Sir James Parr, who presided, contrasted the trade balance of 2-J millions last year with the present balance of 101- millions. The farmers in 192 S exported, mostly to Britain, fourteen millions, compared to the seven millions last year. The Prince of Wales, responding to the toast of his health, said he had compared memories with the Duke of York, and agreed upon the country’s great future. The presence of so many Empire-builders, and Sir James Parr’s figures, proved the needles-sness of undue boasting. The Prince rejoiced that New Zealand cadets were now eligible for entry at the Sandhurst and Woolwich military academics.
