Rain throughout the country interfered with cricket matches, which commenced on Saturday, when Yorkshire, Sussex, Derbyshire, and Somerset did not play. The latter, with Marvlebone and West Indies and Essex and Surrey, did not play to-day. Scores:— Lancashire, 204 (Hallows 74), Mayer taking four wickets for 53, against Warwickshire, 107. R. Tyldeslcy took four wickets for 2S.
Sussex, 91 for two wickets, against. Yorkshire.
Northants, 150, Freeman taking six wifkets for 52, against Kent, 452 for 7 wickets (Ashdown 17S, Woolley 77, Recordon 64 not out). Nottinghamshire, 141 for seven wickets (Whysall 61), against Leicestershire.
Worcestershire, 244 (Gibbons 107). Kennedy took five wickets for 66, Boycs four for 36. Hampshire, 3 wickets for 99.
'Gloucestershire,- 344 -(Dipper 100, Hammond 53, Dacre (New Zealander) 69), against Oxford University, 277 for eight wickets (Kingsley 93, Ford 65 not out). , Marvlebone made 63 for one wicket against West Indies. —Australian and N.Z. Press Assn.
