PROGRESS REPORT. (By Telegraph —Press" Association.) GISBORNE, Tuesday. Taranaki Oil Fields, Ltd., report as fellows: — Gisborne No. 1 well: 2570 ft. in very soft shale; G|im diameter casing to 2S6oft. Gisborne No. 2 well to 545 ft. in shale, then sand and shale; last 30ft. hard sand; total 600 ft.; 124 ft. in diameter casing to 360 ft. The Blenheim Oil Bore at Moturoa continued to flow intermittently during the week-end, says the New Plymouth Herald. As the pressure increased good quality oil was being received while lower pressure failed to force the oil through .the water that is at present in the bore.
