WEDDING,
ARNOLD—TULLY. Of much interest *to New Zealanders was the wedding at St. Paul’s, Knights--1 »ridge, London, on April IS, of Miss Joan Kathleen Tullv, daughter of the late Mr C. J. Tally, Wairarapa, and Mrs Tally, of Wellington, was married to ’Mr Yerc Arbuthnot Arnold, son of the Rev. 11. A. Arnold (Rector of Wolsingham, Durham) and Mrs Arnold. The church was decorated with silver maple, all palms, and hydrangea of pink, white, and blue. The service was choral, the choir meeting the bridal party at the door and leading the way to the chancel. The bride, who was given away by her uncle, Mr 11. D. Bailey, wore a gown of ivory satin romaine, made with a double skirt, hip sash, and long fitting' sleeves. A court train of satin lined with ruehed chiffon fell from the shoulders, and she wore a bridal veil of Honiton lace (given by a cousin, Miss F. Buchanan). A bandeau of pearls and orange buds was worn, and she carried a sheaf of Harrassii lilies.
The bride was attended by Mrs Guy Stratton, matron of honour, and four bridesmaids, Misses Rewa Weston, Joan Arnold (sister of the bridegroom), Jean Johnston (cousin of the bride), and Cecily Fitzherbert. All wore frocks of pale primrose georgette with kilted drapery 1 and double cape, and picture hats of primrose straw, simply banded with petersham. They carried bouquets of blue hydrangeas. Each received a platinum bow brooch from ihe bridegroom.
T ic bridegroom was attended by Mr 11. S. H. Gilmer (of Wellington) as best man, and Messrs W. Ross-Skin-ner, J. Bateson, R. Inglis, and F. Grant as groomsmen.
The ceremony was performed by the Rt. Rev. Bishop Cecil Hook, uncle of the bridegroom, assisted by the Rev. 11. A. Arnold and the Rev. A. Dunean Jones (vicar of St. Paul’s). After the ceremony Mrs Tully held a reception at the Rembrandt Hotel, which was attended by about four hundred guests.
