TENDENCY TO REDUCTION. (By Telegraph —Press Association.) AUCKLAND, Monday. The annual report of the Real Estate Institute of Auckland expresses the opinion that there is a more optimistic feeling at the present time than for the past throe or four years. The report states that New Zealand’s credit stood remarkably high in financial circles, as was shown by the recent Government loan flotation in London. If the banks could see tlieir way to reduce the overdraft rate better conditions might bo looked for in the near future. Another satisfactory indication of the trend of the money market was a tendency toward a reduction in the mortgage rate of interest. Money was now available on first-class securities at 6 per ceut.
