NEW RECORD FOR GIRLS. (By Telegraph —Press Association.) AUCKLANI), Thursday. The Auckland amateur swimming championships were concluded to-night. Miss E. Champion broke the New Zealand record, held by Miss K. Miller (Otago) for the 220 yards intermediate girls, by Osecs., covering the distance in 2.52 2-5. In the 100 yards ladies ‘ race. Miss E. Stockley was defeated by Miss D. Magee, this being Miss Stockley’-s first defeat for three years. The time for the race was 67 2-osec. The following were the results: — 440 yards: G. Bridson 1, E. V. Cunliold 2. 100 yards (ladies): Miss D. Magee 1, Miss E. Stockley 2. 220 yards, (ladies): Miss D. Grant ], Miss E. Stockley 2. 350 yards, back stroke: iL. Fairway-1. 300 yards intermediate, boys, breaststroke: J. 220 yards, intermediate, girls: Miss 35 Champion 1, Miss M. Bell 2. Time, 2.52 2-5-—a New Zealand record. 440 yards, intermediate, boys: P. Brownlee 1, B. Ashley 2.
